As the show season had well and truly got underway we hoped the summer would get underway too! To our amazement, it did, and for the event held annually known to its participants and visitors as FITP (Fiesta In The Park)

The show takes place in Kettering and as the name suggests it is literally a field full of all marques of fiesta, as well as a few from other models in the ford range, throw that together with a handful of stalls, a few rides, and you have a great day out!

There were loads of different visiting clubs, more so than last year I was informed and I am not suprised as all available room was occupied!

I participated myself and spent the majority of the day on the fordsport stand. There was a great atmosphere and apart from the odd negative comments by the ignorant few the majority of things said about cars / mods / clubs etc was very positive, again adding to the day.

As the day went on the number of people turning pink was almost funny, as everyone had not anticipated on the glorious weather there were a multitude of lobsters wandering about, (the majority not actually realising till they got home!)

Everyone seemed to have a great time, partly due to the weather, partly due to the awesome turnout of quality cars and partly due to the atmosphere. Either way it stayed busy till late afternoon...which is when the awards were held...

The overall fiesta of the day Belonged to Graham B, and I doubt many if any can dispute that. Nearly everything he has done to his car, HE has done to it. It was an obvious labour of love that lasted many years but the end product is well worth it! His MK1 is Awesome!!!

Well done to the FCGB for staging such a great event, and roll on FITP 2003!
