What a fabulous weekend I had on the 29th and 30th of September 2001.

I attended the MotorMania Open Weekend at there New Witham Branch - Well its a year old actually hence the Open Weekend!

There was everything from Stereo firms Demo vehicles to an Absolutely mint 2 Door Sierra Cosworth...and in-between the majority of other peoples tastes had been catered for too, including the brand new MG WRC car, the Mobil1 Stand and...Oh did I mention the models, Including the Lovely Danni Hunt from Men and Motors and 3 Gorgeous Lady's who have all been spotted in Maxpower!

The first thing that could be heard on arrival on the Saturday, was the unmistakebale bass lines of some serious In Car Entertainment...Although there were some fantastic installs from some of the owners who were showing their cars they were all over shadowed by the JBL Demo van that attended.

This thing had speakers in all the right places and you can bet your life it was sound deadened to the max...The only thing that moves in this thing is you!

There was a good range of cars on show, these included a cut down VW Camper van, Matt Neals old Independant Touring car, A tidy leather clad 206 and of course...
...A rather menacing Gold Escort Cabriolet and a kitted up Mondeo for good measure! See there are kits for the early Mondeos!
Sunday saw a shuffle round of the display cars outside and allowed some new cars to show there stuff. These included an incredibly clean 2 door Cossie as mentioned above...Now this thing really was immaculate and the pictures really dont do it justice...

To conclude the look at what was going on outside both days I must just quickly bring to light that there was also a different monster truck on display each day.

There was an old Mustang on display too with its superblower on show along with twin holley carbs, lots of horses me thinks!!!

That concludes are look at what was going on outside MotorManis both days, needless to say that the usual refreshments and burgers were provided!

The other main thing which attracted quite a lot of attention outside was the periodical car washing. Now this was obviously not carried out by the owners of the car so to find out who did clean them...read on...

What met you inside on both days was a plethora of bargains jumping out at you from all corners of the shop. There were plenty of staff on hand to answer questions and to serve and there was a great atmosphere. This was all helped by the Ministry of Sound DJ who was entertaining the crowd...On his decks before anyone asks!

A free raffle ensured that several lucky people went home with a set of Kenwood speakers and Wheelwright even gave away a set of League Alloy wheels!

Another great attraction was the soon to be released MG World Rally Car, now being a Ford man through and through I would'nt want to be biased in any way. However, If this thing goes as well as it looks Ford may well have a few problems next season! It is undoubtedly a fine piece of automotive engineering and it looks like MG have got right back in the game and will no doubt be helped by this car when it is driven by Gwyndaf Evans.
Now then remember what was said above regarding the car washing? Well here is who was responsible for cleaning cars...and I am sure most of the male readers would quite like a hand from these lady's when next cleaning there car! (I know I would!)
Now I (along with the rest of the male admirers) thought that this was great viewing entertainment and not a bad way to spend an afternoon...but when I was allowed to "borrow" the ladys for a few minutes to take some pictures for this here site, I thought things couldnt get better! The only problem being where could I get them to stand? In Front of what? Well fortunately my trusty chariot was in close proximaty and was fresh from an afternoons clean so what better place!
All in all a great weekend, enjoyed by everyone who attended. The weather was unkind both days but that didnt seem to deter people from coming and having a look round.

On a personal level I must thank Pauline (One of the owners of the MotorMania chain of outlets) for allowing me to take the pictures and hanging around taking up space!

So remember next time you need an Air filter for your XR3 or a dump valve for your Turbo, give Motormania a call, or visit them at there many branches and let them help you to repair, maintain and modify your motor!
