After another early start we made our way to Northamptonshire and to the home of Trax 2002, Silverstone race circuit.

Our first major problem occurred as we got to within a few miles of the event and realised the queues to get in were absolutely massive, after following a group of cars through some back roads we managed to get closer to the circuit but still ended up queueing for an hour and a half! Not good!

With getting into the event out of the way we hoped that the shows content would make up for the long wait and in my opinion it certainly did!

As with Ford Fair (also held at Silverstone) visiting car clubs had stands throughout the paddock and infield areas, this was surrounded by the track and on which modified cars from every stable could be seen and heard laying some rubber down on the tarmac throughout the course of the day...through the centre part of the circuit 0-60 sprints were being recorded all day with every modified car you can imagine having a go to set the best time of the day.

In the end the fastest of the day was set by Ford Fair's 0-60 winner and this time he was 0.1 of a second off his best running a 3.08 in a Sierra Cosworth! A hell of a time I think you will agree.

For the majority of the day warm sunshine soaked through and this was unchanged until late afternoon when the heavens opened leaving visitors soaked and people on track a little bit tentetive on there new found slippery surface.

This did not take anything away from the show though as it was jam packed with people throughout the day.

Every make of car you could think of could be seen on the various club stands with everything from a Micra to Skyline on show for all to see.

The other great thing about Trax, particularly if your a fella is all the ladies walking around enticing you to the different stands and generally giving things out, some of the more well known models could be seen on various traders stands not to mention some stunning ladies that you might not of heard of or seen before, this combined with the track action, 0-60 sprints and fantastic cars on show made for a nicely varied day of high octane and high testosterone action!

As the day came to a close and people started heading home, the inevitable happened...huge queues, obviously this time to get out...after an hour delay getting out of the circuit we finally got onto to some more free flowing carriageway and headed home.

A great show catering for virtually everyones needs and tastes but more effort needs to be placed on getting everyone into the show ground more quickly and easily next year to help complete what was, for me, one of the best shows of the show season this year!
